Andrew Moritz and Carlos Baerga each batted 2 for 4, with Moritz scoring twice and Baerga banging out a double. Justin Dean and Nicholas Shumpert added triples to Danville’s 12-hit attack.
Belting a three-run, third-inning double to hand the Braves a 6-0 lead, Brett Langhorne also drew a pair of walks in the game.
Starting pitcher Ricardo Sanchez (1-0) held the Twins to one run on four hits over six innings. Brooks Wilson tossed a pair of scoreless frames before Bradey Welsh worked the ninth.
Elizabethton starter Tyler Palm (1-1) had a rough go it, yielding seven runs (eight hits) while lasting just two innings. Seth Pinkerton then allowed four runs in 2 2/3 innings.
From there, Johan Quezada (2 2/3 innings) and Rickey Ramirez (1) were able to stop the bleeding.
The Twins totaled eight hits, with Yunior Severino (4 for 5) accounting for half of those. Ricky De La Torre doubled in a 2-for-4 showing.
The two teams continue their three-game series tonight at 7.
